Webinar on Student Visa

CISNA, in collaboration with the Council of Medical Schemes, South Africa, is hosting a webinar on Recognition Framework for Foreign Health Care Insurance (Medical Aid Scheme) Products on 29 February 2024 at 10:30 (SA Time).

Members are requested to invite the relevant stakeholders from their respective Member States who are concerned with the Medical Aid Schemes and this framework.

The agenda is as follows:

Speakers:

Ms Avril JACOBS

Avril Jacobs is a governance specialist with over 19 (Nineteen) years of experience in finance, compliance, investigation, enforcement, audit, risk management, and governance expertise in the public as well as the private sector.

Avril’s key skills include an in-depth knowledge of board governance, compliance, enforcement, forensic and regulatory investigations of medical schemes, medical scheme administrators, and insurers.

Avril Jacobs was appointed at the Council for Medical Schemes in July 2008 as a Senior Accreditation Analyst and progressed to the Compliance & Investigations Unit in May 2017, where she held a position as Senior Compliance Officer. She further progressed to the position of Senior Manager: Regulation – Compliance and Investigations from 01 October 2022.

The Committee of Insurance, Securities and Non-Banking Financial Authorities (CISNA) was established in 1998, pursuant to Annexure 10 of the SADC Protocol on Finance and Investment as a committee of authorities responsible for the supervision of insurance, securities, and non-banking financial institutions (NBFI) in SADC Member States. CISNA is part of the Directorate of Finance, Investment and Customs of the SADC Secretariat and reports to the SADC Committee of Ministers of Finance and Investment through the Committee of Senior Treasury Officials.
